Woman brutalises 12-year-old girl, inserts stick into her private part for stealing biscuits

A 25-year-old woman identified as Temitope Adetanju has been arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly brutalising a 12-year-old girl for stealing Milo, fruits and biscuits.

It was gathered that the woman who is the victim’s guardian, allegedly inserted stick into the private part of the girl.

The victim who lives in Isewo Obada Oko in Ewekoro local government area of the State with the woman, was reportedly suffered physical abuse from the guardian for her stealing attitude.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Omolola Odutola, said the incident occurred on June 11, 2024, around 11:00 am.

The PPRO said the Divisional Police Officer in Obada-Oko received the alarming information.

She explained that the police discovered that the 12-year-old girl had suffered severe physical abuse from her guardian.

Odutola said, “upon receiving the distressing report, immediate action was taken by deploying officers from the Juvenile Welfare Centre to apprehend the suspect, Temitope Adetanju, who resides at the same address as the victim.

“Adetanju, aged 25, was swiftly taken into custody.

“During the investigation process, it came to light that the motive behind the assault stemmed from an accusation that the victim had stolen items valued at ₦650, which included biscuits, Milo, and Mr. Fruit.”

Odutola said the suspect admitted to committing the crime, while efforts are ongoing to ensure the protection and wellbeing of the victim.
