In compliance with President Bola Tinubu’s directive, 20 victims of last Saturday’s devastating tanker explosion at Dikko Junction in Gurara Local Government Area of Niger State have been transferred to the Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital in Abuja for advanced medical treatment.
The explosion, which has now claimed 98 lives as some of the injured succumbed to their wounds, continues to leave a trail of grief and devastation. The latest fatality count includes those who died while receiving treatment in various health facilities.
In a statement issued yesterday in Abuja, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, confirmed the ongoing efforts to save lives and ease the burden on local health facilities.
Ibrahim noted that two additional victims had also been moved to the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, Abuja, to ensure they receive the best possible care.
“All patients were accompanied by a nurse and family members during their transfer to ensure seamless care,” the statement added.
