Germany’s Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said that Ukraine can rely on Germany and Europe.
Scholz made this statement after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had a heated exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance at the Oval Office on Friday.
Zelensky, Trump, and Vance disagreed on reaching a resolution to end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
A press conference, where Zelensky and Trump were expected to deliver separate speeches and take further questions, was cancelled due to the tense atmosphere.
Reacting, Scholz, in a tweet on X, wrote: “Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians do.
“Therefore, we are working on a common path to a lasting and just peace. Ukraine can rely on Germany – and on Europe.”
