Some traders in Lokoja, Kogi State, on Wednesday staged a peaceful protest over high cost of essential commodities across the state.
Market women and men who protested in the streets of Lokoja, lamented the soaring prices of food items which have affected patronage.
It was gathered that in most markets in the state, most traders have closed shop as buyers no longer patronize them due to the exorbitant cost of commodities.
Also in Abuja, a fresh round of protest has broken out on Wednesday in Suleja, the commercial nerve centre of Niger State which is only a few kilometres away to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The angry Nigerians stormed the streets calling on the President Bola Tinubu-led government to end the hardship and unbearable inflation they were suffering.
On Monday, scores of residents of Minna, Niger State, trooped out in large numbers to protest the hardship in Nigeria caused by the rising cost of living occasioned by the downturn of the economy.
Women and many youths blocked the roundabout in the Pkakungu area of Minna to express their grievances over the issue.
The situation led to gridlock on major roads in Minna.
