The Ondo State police command has confirmed the killing of four people by suspected cultists in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the state.
Thefrontrank learnt that the incident occurred at about 2:00 a.m on Monday during a violent cult-related clash.
The command spokesperson, SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omilani, in terse statement said four people were confirmed death in the incident.
“We can’t confirm if an All Progressives Congress(APC) chieftain is affected, but four people have been confirmed dead.
“Normalcy has returned through the intervention of the Police, efforts are on to arrest perpetrators of the act,” she said.
Thefrontrank learnt that one of deceased was an APC chieftain, Fisayo Oladipo, fondly known as “Fissy”.
The remains of deceased have been taken to the morgue at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Owo.
Also, Oluyemi Ibiloye, the state commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), while confirming the incident, told newsmen that the town has been calm following the deployment of armed security men.
Ibiloye attributed the incident to cult clashes among rival groups.
