The Supreme Court in a unanimous decision on Friday validated the election of Dapo Abiodun as the governor of Ogun State.
Justice Tijjani Abubakar, who led the five-member panel, dismissed the appeal filed by Ladi Adebutu, the governorship candidate of PDP in the last election.
“In the end, this appeal is unmeritorious and deserves to be dismissed. It is hereby dismissed,” Abubakar held.
The state election petition tribunal and the Appeal Court had earlier affirmed the election of the governor Abiodun as duly elected.
The judgement has finally put an end to the governorship election dispute in the state.
