
The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the November 16 election in Ondo State, Kunle Wizeman Ajayi, has been reportedly arrested by security operatives during the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protest in Akure.
According to reports, Ajayi was taken into custody alongside another activist, Patrick Owolabi, by the Police on Saturday.
The Take It Back Movement, a human rights advocacy organization, condemned the arrest in a statement, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of the duo.
The statement posted on social media platform X reads, “It’s unfortunate that the @PoliceNG is yet to learn.
“The continued clampdown on peaceful #EndBadGovernceInNigeria protesters is a total shame.
“We condemn the unlawful arrest of Ajayi Wizeman & Patrick Owolabi in Ondo state and we demand their immediate and unconditional release!”
