Ondo youths threaten to recall Senator Jide Ipinsagba for non-performance

Youths from the Ondo North Senatorial District have threatened to recall the Senator representing them in the National Assembly, Jide lpinsagba over alleged non-performance.

The aggrieved youths accused the senator of neglecting them and having no plans for his constituency, which comprises Akoko North West, Akoko North East, Akoko South West, Akoko South East, Ose and Owo Local Government areas.

The youths under the aegis of Ondo North Concerned Youths from the six local government areas made this known in a statement.

The statement reads;

“WE WILL RECALL SENATOR JIDE IPINSAGBA, ONDO NORTH CONCERNED YOUTHS AGITATE FOR EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION.

A week ago, the Ondo North Concerned Youths group wrote an open letter to Senator Jide Ipinsagba accusing him of his cripple performance and not serving the interest of the people of Ondo North Senatorial district rather his personal interest.

However, the privileged ultimatum accorded to the Senator to proffer tangible and truthful response to the brilliant questions of this Youths group elapse on 13th of May 2024. Though his media team rollout a content that seems to respond to this Youths quest but it is obvious that all the response are not genuine, sincere and they are all phony.

It is pertinent for all representatives to be accountable, reliable and accessable, but our own Senator lack all these qualities. A Senator who can’t boldly mention his local government political wards not to talk of mentioning at least a leader from each ward. This denote the fact that Senator is not close to his people simply because he sees them as burdens on him.

RECAP OF SENATOR’S RESPONSE TO OUR OPEN LETTER;

Fertilizer distribution: A transparent process involving local farmers’ associations and government agencies.

Palliatives: Distributed fairly among vulnerable groups, with records available for public scrutiny.
SLA slots: Merit-based selection, with beneficiaries chosen through a fair and transparent process.
NEMA palliatives: Distributed according to established guidelines, with recipients verified by local authorities.

Constituency allowance: Managed responsibly, with projects and initiatives benefiting Ondo North citizens.
Amnesty program slots: Selection based on established criteria, with priority given to deserving cases.
Niger Delta States Oversight funds: Utilized for designated projects, with proper accounting and transparency.

Above are the response of Senator Jide Ipinsagba to Ondo North Youths open letter. Well, we have carefully gone through all his response and we appreciate our Senator for his quick reaction, but we are humbly writing to request for the details of all these attended questions. Since our findings are true and the Senator himself has confirmed it authenticity, we hereby request for the genuine list of those who benefited from the programmes and also the list of projects which he expended Niger Delta Oversight fund, perhaps the Constituency allowance usage.

There is no doubt that Senator and is media men approach to our current agitations is not encouraging and we believe that it is a breach of trust for a Senator to turn deaf ears to the agitations of the people who elect him simply because of his own selfishness and nonchalant attitude.

Several repulsive words have been used on social media, phones and other medias by the Senator’s media men against us. They want to sabotage the efforts we are investing to request for good representation from the Senator we unanimously voted, however they won’t succeed in this act, because we didn’t request for anything but our Citizenry rights.

Sadly, it has become a norms in Ondo North Senatorial district for an elected person to ride on the trust and support of electorate to meet their dreams of serving the public, forgetting the campaign promises and start acting in manners that almost akin to godlike trait after giving them the mandate, which seemingly says to the public they cannot be checkmated or held accountable for their actions and inactions until the next electoral year. They believe after the end of one tenure, they will deploy tactics such as “Stomach infrastructure” and false apologies, all geared towards soothing the public. Unfortunately, Ondo North people have a large heart and would forgive them and re-elect the representative only for them to repeat the same cycle again.

The Ondo North Concerned Youths won’t allow such occurrence this time around, not even from Senator Jide Ipinsagba. Youths involvement in his representation should be his prominent task and he should work meritoriously to cushion unemployment ravaging among the youths or else we will be forced to recall him as the senator representing us.

In view of this, we are giving our Senator another one week ultimatum to proffer answers to all our questions and also call for youths advise on how to address issues affecting our senatorial youths. The elders says “the youths of nowadays understand the rudiments of how to hunt the rabbit of nowadays” The Senator should seek advise from his senatorial youths on how to give good representation.

Dear Senator, we await to receive your response and your invitation seeking our advises, otherwise we will be forced to act strange and recall your mandate. We understand the process of recall and we are very much ready to kickstart the processes if you awake the annoyance in us.
