
The apex youth network in Ondo State, The Ondo State Youth Network (OSYN), has commended Senator Jimoh Ibrahim for his tireless efforts in sponsoring the Coastal State Bill.
Thefrontrank reports that a bill sponsored by Jimoh Ibrahim, Senator representing Ondo South Senatorial District, is seeking constitutional amendment to allow creation of Coastal State from the present Ondo State was introduced on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 and scaled the first reading.
A statement issued at the weekend in Akure by the General Secretary of OSYN, Babatunde Kuye, said that the network was thrilled by the progress made by the Coastal State Bill, which has now cleared for public hearing in the legislative process.
“We are proud to acknowledge Senator Jimoh Ibrahim’s visionary leadership and his dedication to the people of Ondo South,” Kuye stated.
The Coastal State Bill aims to establish a new state for Okitipupa, Odigbo, Ese-Odo, Ilaje and Irele Local Government Areas to drive economic growth, jobs creation, and improve the standard of living for the people in the coastal community.
OSYN believes that the passage of the Coastal State Bill would have a transformative impact on the affected areas in Ondo South, attracting investments, stimulating economic growth and creating opportunities for the people..
“We commend Senator Jimoh Ibrahim for his outstanding leadership and commitment to the people of Ondo South,” Kuye said.
According to him, as the apex youth network in Ondo State, OSYN is committed to working with Senator Jimoh to ensure the successful implementation of the Coastal State Bill.
“We will continue to mobilize support for this bill, and we are confident that it will become a reality soon,” Kuye reiterated.
