
Over 6,000 residents of Ondo North Senatorial District benefited from a free medical and surgical outreach facilitated by the Senator representing the district, Jide Ipinsagba.
Thefrontrank reports that the medical outreach, which lasted two days, afforded indigent constituents the opportunity to access medical consultation and treatment for different ailments.
The free medical outreach was in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and Conclusion General Services Limited.
The programme which covered all the six local government areas of the Senatorial district, was held simultaneously at the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko, General hospital, Oka-Akoko and General hospita, Owo on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1, 2025.
A team of medical professionals conducting diagnosis, treatment for minor health conditions and enlightenment on prevention for common sicknesses like malaria, typhoid and high blood pressure.
Also, eye glasses were distributed to individuals with eye defects while free surgery was performed for constituents with cataract, glaucoma, among others.
Speaking during the commencement of the programme, Ipinsagba said intervention in the health sector remains integral in his responsibility to the people of the senatorial district.
According to the Senator, he will continue to ensure his constituents have access to what belong to them from the National Assembly to compliment the efforts of the state government.
He assured residents of the district that they would continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy under his leadership.
Speaking, one of the patients, Mary Omobolanle, thanked the lawmaker for the succour provided.
Also, Bayo Akoledowo, a cataract patient from Oka Akoko, said, “Before now, I could not use my right eye to see anything, but I thank God I can see clearly now.”
