Ondo: PDP governorship candidate, Ajayi condemns court judgment nullifying LCDAs’ creation

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the November election in Ondo State, His Excellency, Agboola Ajayi, has condemned the nullification of the newly created 33 Local Council Development Areas in the State by an Akure High Court.

Justice A.O Adebusuoye, in a judgment on Thursday described the creation of the LCDAs as unlawfully.

However, Ajayi described the judgment as anti-people and would hinder development of Ondo communities.

The PDP candidate who accused the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of backing the suit, said the people preferred a government that is close to them.

He noted that Aiyedatiwa also filed a suit against local government autonomy.

His words, “The judgment is anti-people. It will promoting an agenda that will hinder rapid development of the communities.

“The Ondo State government is behind the suit. They must appeal the judgment. The suit filed by the PDP was not to totalling abrogate the LCDAs but illegal inauguration of Caretaker Chairman.

“If an Owl files at night and a child dies the next day, you do not need to find out the cause of death.”

Thefrontrank reports that the 33 LCDAs were created last year by the administration of the former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

Late Akeredolu had on Saturday, September 9, 2023 assented to the bill creating 33 LCDAs.
