Agboola Ajayi, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the November 16 governorship election Ondo State, has vowed to reinstate free education if he secures victory.
This pledge was made during a debate on Channels TV on Sunday night, where he engaged in a heated exchange with his All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
In the debate, Aiyedatiwa highlighted his administration’s accomplishments in the education sector, pointing to the recruitment of 2,000 teachers and improvements in school facilities.
However, Ajayi dismissed these achievements as “mere propaganda,” promising instead to provide free education and essential learning materials for students if elected.
The Ondo governorship election is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 16.
