The Ondo State Government has released the list of the newly recruited 1,010 teachers into public secondary schools in the state.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Monday in Akure, said this follows the completion of a recruitment exercise conducted by the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).
Thefrontrank reports that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had in 2024 approved the recruitment of over 1,000 teachers into secondary schools in a bid to tackle the shortage of teachers.
According to the statement, the list of successful candidates will be published online today, Monday, and displayed at TESCOM headquarters and zonal offices across the state from Tuesday.
“Those recruited are expected to commence documentation immediately,” the statement read.
Aiyedatiwa had repeatedly expressed concerns over teacher’s shortage, particularly in rural schools, and directed that recruitment be based on the needs of understaffed institutions.
