The Government of Ondo State has expressed shock over the death of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi, who died on Saturday.
Oluwatuyi succumbed to injuries sustained in a lone car accident along Ife-Ibadan Expressway on December 15, 2024.
He was travelling to Ibadan when the accident occurred, leading to his hospitalisation.
In a statement released by Otunba ‘Wale Akinlosotu, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, the state government described Hon. Oluwatuyi as a dedicated public servant who played a pivotal role in the administration.
“Hon. Oluwatuyi’s contributions to administrative coordination, policy advisory, and implementation greatly shaped Ondo State’s governance,” the statement read in parts.
His career included notable roles such as Chairman of Akure South Local Government, Commissioner, and two tenures as SSG, marking him as a key figure in the state’s development.
The government extended its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and associates, recognising his enduring legacy.
Details of the memorial arrangements will be announced in due course.
