Ondo 2024: PDP candidate picks running mate

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate in the November 16 governorship election in Ondo state, Agboola Ajayi has announced the nomination of Festus Akingbaso as his running mate.

Popularly known as Fessywest, Akingbaso is a member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja on Monday by his media aide, Samuel Ogunmusi.

Thefrontrank reports that Ogunmusi was the PDP deputy governorship placeholder, until the nomination of Akingbaso.

Akingbaso, a former member of the State’s House Of Assembly, is a grassroots politician from Idanre.

He is a loyal party man, philanthropist, a successful businessman and an accomplished politician with a strong bias for youth empowerment and active participation in politics.

According to the statement, Akingbaso’s nomination is as a result of wide consultations among party leaders and members in Ondo State .

The statement said that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been informed of the nomination of the federal lawmaker, as his name has been forwarded to the electoral body by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
