Ondo 2024: Akure North APC leaders endorse Jimoh Ibrahim

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress(APC) governorship primary in Ondo State, leaders of the party in Akure North Local Government Area of the State have endorsed Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as their preferred candidate.

The leaders drawn from the 12 wards in the local government took the decision at a meeting held at the residence of the immediate past Ondo State House of Assembly member, Hon. Abiodun Faleye, in Alagbaka, Akure, on Saturday.

According to the communique issued at end of the meeting, the leaders promise to support and mobilise members in local government for Ibrahim to pick the party’s ticket at the April primary.

The communique was signed by Hon. Abiodun Faleye, former member, Ondo State House of Assembly; Prince Segun Oluyede, former Chairman, Akure North Local Government; Barrister Bola Awodola, former Secretary, Akure North Local Government; Hon. Abass Fagbemi, former Commissioner, Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC); and Hon. Felicia George, former Supervisor, Akure North Local Government.

“During a pivotal meeting convened today, Saturday, the 16th of March, 2024, at Dr Abiodun Faleye’s residence in Alagbaka, Akure, we, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from each of the 12 wards in Akure North, addressed the pressing matter of endorsing a gubernatorial candidate for the imminent APC primary, scheduled for the 25th of April, 2024.

“Reflecting the collective voice of the APC members within the local government, we diligently deliberated and ultimately endorsed Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, OFR, CFR, as our candidate for the forthcoming gubernatorial primary.

“The endorsement of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim, who is known for his affable demeanour, revered standing, and scholarly prowess, was a product of exhaustive consultations and deliberations among us. Cogent reasons for supporting his endorsement are:

“1.His extensive consultations: Senator Ibrahim’s diligent efforts in conducting comprehensive consultations spanning across the 18 local governments and 203 wards within Ondo state affirm his steadfast commitment to advancing the welfare of all party members across various levels of governance.

“2. His demonstrated capability: The commendable tenure of Senator Ibrahim so far as the representative of Ondo South Senatorial District in the Senate serves as a testament to his exceptional leadership acumen and administrative prowess, thus affirming his capability to effectively navigate the complexities of gubernatorial responsibilities.

“3. His impressive academic Resume: Senator Ibrahim’s unparalleled academic credentials, unprecedented amongst gubernatorial aspirants in Ondo state’s political landscape, attest to his intellectual acuity and aptitude for informed decision-making, bolstering confidence in his ability to lead with distinction.

“4.His philanthropic legacy: Over the course of three decades, Senator Ibrahim’s unwavering commitment to philanthropic endeavours has left an indelible mark on the fabric of society, exemplifying his dedication to uplifting the underprivileged and marginalized segments of the populace.

“Our collective belief as APC leaders and members in Akure North is that Senator Dr. Jimoh Ibrahim, by the grace of God, not only possesses the requisite qualities to emerge victorious in the APC governorship primary election in April but is also primed to secure triumph in the ensuing general election slated for November 2024.
