Ondo 2024: Aborigine Claims, Usurpation Of Socialist Ideology Dated Immemorial—By Sola Olatunji

Aborigine in the Oxford dictionary means something of ancient status and relating it with progressive ideology as postulated by Karl Marx, a political scientist in his theory: Let me refresh as related to issues under reference.

This progressive ideology was championed by Africanists after the Second World War( 1939- 1945) as the best form of government ever invented by man for humanity on this earth. The rationale behind the propagation of this ideology in Africa and the sub region was to facilitate decolonisation.

Leaders like Herbert Merculay, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and others were the leading light of progressive politics in the Western region ,now South -West region of Nigeria. Chief Obafemi Awolowo, in particular, could be unarguably described as the aborigine of progressive politics in the South-West as a result of his enduring contributions to the evolution of progressive politics in the South-West and Nigeria.

Although we are getting entertained by the galaxy of drama and politics of endorsement unfolding in Ondo State, as the primary election of APC draws near but we are also flaggerbasted by certain elements laying claim to progressive politics in Ondo State. This is falsehood in its entirety and of no significance.

We are also aware that this choreographed endorsement by these individuals must have been engineered by politics of stomach infrastructure, politics of relevance, and politics of palliatives.

In conclusion, we are saying that aspirants with integrity and credible credentials should worry less about the noise of the usurpers as it will confer no benefit on who becomes the winner of the primary election of APC.

Finally, as said repeatedly, what will determine who wins the primary election of APC will be integrity, Charisma, loyalty, credibility and capacity.
