The Osun State Government on Monday ordered the closure of both public and private schools in the state ahead of the August 1 nationwide protest.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mr Kehinde Jimoh, in a statement in Osogbo advised parents to take full custody of their children before the commencement of the protest.
He said that private and public schools should heed to the directive for compulsory third term break.
The statement read: “This is to inform the general public, particularly parents, guardians and heads of both public and private schools in the state that due to the planned nationwide protests, all schools are directed to proceed on the third term vacation from Wednesday, 31st July, 2024.
“Parents and Guardians are advised to ensure the safety of their wards during the vacation.”
