Man who climbed mast for suicide released, starts PoS business

Shaibu Yusuf, who was arrested by the Federal Capital Territory Police Command for threatening to commit suicide from the apex of Aso Radio and TV mast in Abuja on July 8, over insecurity and persisting economic hardship in the country, has been released.

Thefrontrank reports that Yusuf is to start a Point-of-Sale business as a means of livelihood.

This was disclosed on Friday by a human rights activist, Deji Adeyanju on his Facebook page.

Adeyanju in the post also appreciated the collective effort of FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igwe, and the Police Public Relations Officer of FCT, Josephine Adeh, for giving Yusuf a second opportunity to start a new life.

He stated further that he and Igwe would support Yusuf to begin a PoS business.

Adeyanju wrote, “We have secured the release of Shaibu Yusuf who protested climbing a mast in Abuja after a week of back and forth.

“Let me appreciate the collaborative effort of FCT CP, Bennett Igwe and FCT PRO, Josephine Adeh in this regard.

“CP Igwe and I are supporting Shaibu to start a POS business.

“I must also thank the Welfare Department of the FCT Social Development Unit.”
