Makinde presents staff, instruments of office to Olakulehin

The Governor Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on Friday presented staff and instruments of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin 1.

Makinde, while making the presentation, said: “They said they want to sabotage, they want to sabotage, we are here today at Mapo Hall.

“I, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo State by the virtue of power conferred on me, hereby present the staff of office to the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“Let us say Kabiesi!”

Thefrontrank reports that Makinde made the presentation at about 2:45 pm during a ceremony at the frontage of Mapo Hall in Ibadan.

Thefrontrank reports that Governor Makinde, his Ogun state counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the Olubadan-designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin have arrived Mapo, the venue of the coronation at about 2. 00 pm to the waiting crowd.

The monarch, apparently coming from seclusion arrived at the venue about 20mins earlier and welcomed by the traditional drummers, was brought in a black jeep.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar were among traditional rulers present at the event.
