Kidnapped NAN Editor regains freedom
Mr Gregory Mmaduakolam, an Editor with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who was kidnapped on Thursday, Dec. 5 in Owerri, Imo State has been freed.
He was released on Saturday after a payment of ransom by his family.
A terse message by one of his colleagues in Owerri reads: “Our colleague, Gregory Maduakolam, is free. He just called to inform me that he was released this morning …Glory be to God!”
The abductors had earlier called Mmaduakolam’s family demanding a ransom of N50 million for his release.
Mmaduakolam was kidnapped at Irete in Owerri West Local Government area of the state where he went to inspect land.
