How Mr Ibu died
Facts have emerged that the veteran Nollywood actor and comedian, John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, died of cardiac arrest.
Thefrontrank gathered that Mr Ibu, 62, died on Saturday afternoon after he was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Evercare Hospital, Lekki, Lagos, a few days ago.
The Nollywood actor died of cardiac arrest after he had a relapse about a week ago and was rushed to the Lagos-based hospital.
He passed away weeks after returning from hospital following successful surgeries that led to amputation of one of his legs.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Dr Emeka Rollas, said Mr Ibu died of cardiac arrest.
Fans and colleagues of Mr Ibu have since been effusive with tributes in honour of the funnyman.
The actor was known for his funny roles in many movies like Issakaba, A fool at 40, amongst others which earned him several nominations and awards.
Mr Ibu’s death followed the passing of his colleague, Tolani Quadri Oyebamiji, popularly known as Sisi Quadri, who died on Friday and was buried on Saturday in his hometown, Iwo, Osun State.
Mr Ibu was an indigene of Nkanu West Local Government of Enugu State. He is survived by wife and children.
