Gunmen kidnap NAN Editor, demand ransom

Gunmen have kidnapped Mr Gregory Madu, an Editor with the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), Imo State Bureau.

Madu was kidnapped on Thursday by the hoodlums at Irete in Owerri West Local Government area of the state where he went to inspect land, Thefrontrank reports.

Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson for the police in Imo State, Henry Okoye said the abductors had called, demanding ransom.

He disclosed that the command has commenced investigation into the abduction and rescue the journalist.

“Yes, a colleague from NAN has come to the office to lodge the complaint and the kidnappers have demanded ransom,” Okoye.

“We’re working seriously on it with the anti-kidnapping division, a serious investigation has also commenced.”
