
Gunmen have reportedly abducted a man, Tope Faji, his wife and their eight-year-old daughter in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Thefrontrank gathered that the incident happened on Friday evening in front of their residence located on Ipele Road, Owo.
A family source told the Thefrontrank that they were abducted shortly after returning home from the Tarawiy(Asamu) prayer from Mosque.
The source revealed that the kidnappers who initially demanded a N20 million ransom later reduced it to N17 million.
Another family source, however, disclosed that the victims were released on Sunday morning after payment of the N17 million ransom.
The source said the victims are presently in an unnamed hospital in Owo receiving medical attention.
The spokesperson for the Police Command in the State, Olufunmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, said she could not confirm the incident.
Thefrontrank reports that the incident comes on the heels of the release of nine Surveyors who were abducted at Oba Ile area in Akure North Local Government Area after payment of N20 million ransom.
