
The Police Command in Kogi State has rescued two persons after suspected kidnappers attacked a commercial vehicle on Eteh Road in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.
Zagazola Makama, a security analyst reports that the security personnel were alerted after hearing gunshots on Sunday and rushed to the scene, where they saw armed men forcing passengers from an ash-colored Sharon car with registration number AJK 207 LG into the bush.
The operatives engaged the gunmen in a shootout, forcing them to flee.
While combing the area, two individuals were rescued.
The victims claimed to be military personnel serving in Kaduna State but refused to disclose their identities.
The rescued individuals stated that all passengers scattered in different directions during the exchange of fire and that they managed to evade capture using their military training.
The number of passengers kidnapped remains unknown, but security operatives have intensified bush combing operations to locate other victims and apprehend the assailants.
