Father of four allegedly commits suicide in Ondo
A 58-year-old man, Omolayo Bamidele on Tuesday in Igburowo, Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State, reportedly committed suicide by drinking chemical substance suspected to be sniper.
The cause of the death of Bamidele, a father of four, an indigene of the community was yet to be ascertained.
The incident had thrown the agrarian community into mourning as residents trooped to the scene to look at the Bamidele’s lifeless body on the main road linking the community with a farm settlement.
It was gathered that the news of his death was brought to the notice of the community at about 10:30 am on the fateful day by an Octogenarian who noticed his lifeless body on the dusty road.
The Octogenarian was said to have immediately raised the alarm leading to the residents trooping to the scene.
It was learnt that Police from Ore had evacuated the corpse and deposited it at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital, Ore.
Police source said the deceased did leave suicide note, but a substance believed to be a sniper was found beside his lifeless body.
The source also disclosed that investigation had begun on the incident.
