A former Chairman of Irele Local Government Area in Ondo State, Hon. Nicholas Akinbiola, has rejected the appointment of Special Assistant offered to him by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Thefrontrank reports that Akinbiola is currently a Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President, Office of the Senate President.
The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on Friday had listed Akinbiola as one of the newly appointed 344 Special Assistants.
Akinbiola, while declining the appointment in a letter addressed to the governor on Saturday and personally signed, promised his loyalty and commitment to the success of the All Progressives Congress at all levels.
The letter read:
“Your Excellency,

The Executive Governor of Ondo State
Sir,
Re: Appointment as Special Assistant – My Sincere Appreciation and Reservation.
I express my sincere appreciation to Your Excellency for the honour of being appointed as Special Assistant in your administration. I am indeed grateful for this honour and recognition bestowed on me among many party faithful. It is a privilege to serve the good people of Ondo State.
However, I respectfully decline this offer due to my current appointment as Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Senate President, Office of the Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria at the instance of Sen. Jimoh Ibrahim PhD, CFR.
I remain loyal and committed to the success of APC government at all levels and your victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ondo State.
Once again, Mr. Governor, I’m grateful Sir.
