Cleric urges public office holders to emulate Christ humility as associates join Bayo Philip in thanksgiving

A clergy, Venerable Ope Kujero, has called on public office holders to emulate the servant-leader example of Jesus Christ in their service to the people.

Kujero made the called in his sermon titled ‘Christ Attitude of Master-Servanthood’ at a Thanksgiving Service held on Sunday in honour the new Ondo State Head of Service(HoS), Mr Bayo Philip, at the Church of the Ascension Anglican Church, Oba-Ile, Akure.

This is contained in a statement issued by Sina Adeyeye, Director of Media, office of HoS.

The clergy, who is the Dean of St David Anglican Cathedral, Akure, stressed that Christians in public offices are the ambassadors of Christ any where they find themselves, urging them to show the light of Christ by using their position to draw people to God.

Speaking, Mr Philip thanked God for his elevation, saying it was least expected at the time it came.

While appreciating the state governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for counting him worthy of the position, Philip promised to use the position for the good of people of the state.

The service, which had in attendance, a retired Head of Service in the state, Prince Ajose Kudehinbu, retired and serving Permanent Secretaries and other top government functionaries, offered special prayer for the governor and the state in general.
