Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, Aiyedatiwa, Fubara congratulate Tinubu at 72
Former President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State; and Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, have congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his 72nd birthday.
Buhari, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, commended the sustained efforts by Tinubu’s administration to overcome the many challenges of Nigeria.
“My family and I pray to God that you remain healthy and happy and continue to work for the betterment of the country. Happy birthday to you!” Buhari said.
On his part, Sanwo-Olu, in a statement by his media aide Gboyega Akosile, described Tinubu as “a courageous, audacious, and passionate leader committed to the progress, growth, and development of Nigeria.”
“President Tinubu’s financial wizardry and economic intellect, which he put to good use as the Governor of Lagos State, have taken our dear state to a greater height.
“Today, Lagos is the pride of Nigeria, occupying an enviable position as the fifth largest economy in Africa,” Sanwo-Olu stated.
Similarly, Aiyedatiwa, in his congratulatory message, likened Tinubu to the late sage and former Premier of the Western Region, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, noting that it was not a coincidence that they shared the same birth month.
“As our leader, I am in awe of your uncanny ability to take bold decisions in the overall interest of the people and live with the consequences that may come off thereafter without caving in under pressure.
“Your leadership of the country at these trying times and the stability you have brought despite the myriad of challenges further validate the litany of stellar achievements you recorded when you governed Lagos from 1999 to 2007.
“We will continue to appreciate your genuine interest in and commitment to the development of Ondo State as exemplified by the fatherly role you played in entrenching political stability in our state when we needed it the most.
“As you celebrate your birthday today, it is my prayer and the prayer of the good people of Ondo state that you continue to lead the country to a safe harbour in good health and comfort,” Aiyedatiwa said.
Also, Fubara described Tinubu as a selfless leader, an advocate of peace and unity, and a bridge builder who has engendered the country’s growth of democracy.
Fubara, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi, described Tinubu as a devout and selfless leader, an advocate of peace and unity, and a bridge builder that has engendered the growth of democracy in Nigeria.
He also recalled Mr President’s leading role in the rebirth of the nation’s democracy through the instrumentality of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), during the days of the military junta, and his leadership in the formation of strong political platforms, culminating in the emergence of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to drive Nigeria’s democratic transformation.
Fubara said: “You are a hardworking and people-oriented leader, committed to promoting peace, upholding the unity of the nation and improving the welfare of Nigerians through quality service delivery and good governance as enunciated in your ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’.
“The policies and programmes of your administration are testament of your commitment to ensuring the growth and transformation of the nation under your leadership.”
