Borno: Wife kills husband with axe during argument

The Borno State Police Command says it has arrested a 40-year-old woman for killing her husband with an axe in Kautikari village of Chibok Local Government Area of the state.

ASP Nahum Daso, the command’s Spokesperson, said Aji was arrested for killing her husband with an axe during a fight over their daughter, Rachael Aji, 13, who stole a goat and sold it to an unknown person.

Following the daughter’s criminal behaviour, the father ordered her to leave the house.

A fight ensued as the mother opposed the order and instantly struck her husband with an axe.

“Lydia Aji struck her husband on the head with an axe and he died instantly.

“Investigation further revealed that the couple had a misunderstanding. The angry father then asked them to leave his house. The case is still under investigation,” Daso said.
