Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, widow of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, has accused Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of reveling in her husband’s death.
Betty, in a post on her X account handle on Monday, expressed outrage over what she perceived as Aiyedatiwa’s insensitivity, particularly regarding the recent death of the Secretary to the State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi.
The former first lady of Ondo State alleged that the governor and his camp were joyous when her husband died.
“Aketi passed, Lucky declared, ‘Eku ORIRE’ (congratulations!). There was joy in his camp! Talk of evil person, do you need to look far?”, she wrote.
She argued that Aiyedatiwa’s decision to refrain from celebrating his “lavish 60th birthday” due to the death of Oluwatuyi only served as confirmation of his insensitivity toward his boss, late Akeredolu.
Thefrontrank reports that Betty’s post drew criticism from some users who described her comments as outrageous, appealing to her to find peace with Aiyedatiwa.
Many netizens, however, questioned the validity of her claims, noting that her continued attacks on Aiyedatiwa were unwarranted.
