Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has called for urgent efforts to fix Nigeria, emphasising the need for a united political movement to rescue the country from its current challenges.
Atiku said this during a gathering held in his honor on Tuesday in Yola, Adamawa State, where he underscored the importance of collective action in restoring the nation’s trajectory toward progress.
“Nigeria needs urgent fixing, and we must come together to fix it for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren. The future of our nation depends on our ability to unite and take decisive steps toward real change,” Atiku said.
He lamented the worsening economic situation, insecurity, and governance issues under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, arguing that the current leadership has failed to address the nation’s pressing problems.
According to Atiku, Nigerians deserve accountable, inclusive, and people-centered leadership rather than a system that prioritizes political elites.
Atiku urged political leaders and citizens alike to support a new movement aimed at delivering good governance, insisting that the country must not remain on its current trajectory.
He commended Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo for organizing the event and called on others to intensify efforts in mobilizing support ahead of the 2027 elections.
In his remarks, Senator Abbo reaffirmed his commitment to Atiku’s vision, stating that the movement is not about personal ambition but about rescuing Nigeria.
“This is about ensuring that the will of the people prevails and that Nigeria gets the leadership it deserves,” Abbo said.
As the event concluded, Atiku’s supporters expressed renewed determination to drive the movement forward, setting the stage for what could be a major political showdown in 2027.
