The All Progressives Congress (APC), Igbotako Ward 2 in Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, has described a letter of a purported suspension of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim from the party circulating in the public space as fake.
The Chairman of the party in the Ward, Chief Adetokunbo Solomon Omotola, in a chat with Thefrontrank said the letter in circulation on purported suspension the Senator is fake.
Omotola called members of the party and the public to be wary of political jobbers and fifth columnists scheming to create crisis in the party.
Ibrahim, who is from Igbotako Ward 2, is representing Ondo South at the national assembly and a governorship aspirant in the April 20, APC primary.
The Senator is in court challenging the outcome of the APC governorship primary held on April 20 in the state, alleging fraud in the exercise.
Omotola said the party’s ward executives had on May 9, 2024 at an emergency meeting passed a vote of confidence in Ibrahim.
“As the Chairman of APC in Igbotako Ward II, Senator Jimoh Ibrahim is still a bona fide member of our party and we stand firm by him to get justice on the last governorship primary.
“No fewer than 55 members of the party including the Local Government and Ward executives have passed vote of confidence in Ibrahim.
“Therefore, any other letter being circulated as suspending Ibrahim is fake, null and void,” Omotola said.
He said that members and executives of the party in the Ward were also standing by the senator in his pursuit of justice on the last governorship primary.
Omotola urged party faithful to discountenance the “fake letter,” stressing that it is a figment of the imagination of those circulating it.
