The wife of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Oluwaseun, has reportedly returned to the United Kingdom after her appearance on Saturday at the Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.
The governor’s wife made a dramatic appearance at the Government House during the wedding ceremony of the governor’s niece, held at the Government House Chapel.
Thefrontrank reports that the governor’s wife left the state in 2023 due to alleged frosty relationship with Aiyedatiwa when he was the deputy governor.
A competent government source told Thefrontrank on Monday that the governor’s wife left the Government House on Sunday morning for UK, her current base.
“The wife of the Governor returned to the UK on Sunday morning after attending the wedding ceremony of the governor’s niece on Saturday.
“She was in the Government House primarily to attend the wedding ceremony of the governor’s niece who is very close and dear to her.
“I don’t think the woman is interested in what is going on in this administration,” the source told Thefrontrank.
The absence of the governor’s wife from public affairs had sparked conversations about governance and the role of the first lady in the administration.
Some residents had called for her return, seeing her presence as essential to the government’s public image and operational stability.
