
All is set for the conduct of A 2- Day Induction training for the 1100 newly employed teachers for Public Primary Schools across the state to be organized by Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board ODSUBEB
According to the Executive Chairman of ODSUBEB, Rt Hon Victor Olabimtan, the training will be declared open by His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Ondo State Governor on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at St James’ CAC Mega Primary School, Irowo, Akure by 10.00 am.
The training scheduled to take place between April 29 and 30, 2025 at six designated centres across the State, is part of the Board’s deliberate plans to groom and equip the newly recruited teachers with necessary skills to deliver on their mandates to pulpils as 21st century teachers.
Olabimtan said the Centres where the induction will take place such as Ikare-Akoko, Owo, Akure, Ondo, Okitipupa and Irele are carefully chosen to ensure that, the training takes place close to the Schools the teachers will be posted to reduce unnecessary stress, risk of lives and cost on the part of the participants.
“This training which is an integral long term, Teachers Professional Development(TPD), of the Board is part of plans to properly introduce the new intakes into the Public Service.of Ondo State”
Olabimtan, who was a former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly and as well as Chairman, Ondo State Teaching Service Commission(TESCON), commended the State Governor for approving the request of the Board to fill existing critical vacancies in the Public Primary Schools across the State.
He described the gesture as a testament of Mr Governor’s commitment at ensuring that the state’s educational sector is equipped with highly skilled and motivated teachers.
“We are excited to embark on this initiative, which will not only enhance the capacity of our new teachers but also improve the quality of education in our public primary schools,” he stated.
He added that the training programme is expected to bring together newly employed teachers from across the state, providing them with a platform to network, share experiences, and learn from one another.
The induction will be coordinated by the National Institute of Education Planning and Administration, (NIEPA), Ondo, Ondo State. It is the apex agency of the Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, in-charge of Teachers Professional Development in Nigeria.
The training modules will cover key areas in teaching such as Modern Teaching Methodologies, Classroom Management, and assessment Techniques and amongst others.
