The embattled Edo state deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, has officially resumed his office following his reinstatement by the Federal High Court.
Shaibu announced his return in a video shared on his X handle on Monday, August 12, and directed his staff to resume their duties as well.
He warned that staff who failed to resume office would face the consequences of their action.
Captioning the video, Shaibu wrote: “In adherence to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, I announce my official resumption to office.”
He stressed that the court’s judgment, which reinstated him, affirmed that his office was never vacant.
He also warned banks against conducting transactions involving his office without his explicit approval, citing such actions as illegal.
