The Council of Ondo Youths Forum(CONYF) has passed vote of confidence in Senator Jide Ipinsagba, representing the Ondo North Senatorial District, urging him to ignore people it described as ‘blackmailers’.
The council comprises of Akoko East Youth Forum, Akoko SouthWest Youth Forum, Akoko SouthEast Youth Forum, Akoko NorthWest Youth Forum, Owo General Assembly and Ose Youths Forum.
The council in a communique read by Mr Joseph Oguntuyi, President, Akoko SouthWest Youth Forum, said that the confidence became imperative for the lawmaker to continue his efforts to inspire and uplifting the youths in the district.
Thefrontrank reports that the meeting of the council was held at Ugbe Akoko in Akoko NorthWest Local Government area of the state.
CONYF while noting that Ipinsagba was one of the few senators that would not restricts visitors by setting days aside as visiting days, said his dedication to youths empowerment, community development and progressive leadership were evidence in his service.
“It is pertinent to note and inform the general public that the so called Youths who hide under the umbrella of Ondo North Youths Alliance (ONYA) to give malicious press release are doing so for their personal aggrandisement and for their pockets.
“For emphasis, we resolved that the motive for the sponsored media campaign is for the sole purpose of cashing out and blackmailing the Senator to bend to their nefarious greed.
“This delusional voyage of expedition is anchored on the need to dance to the whims and caprices of some political leaders for instant gratification or perhaps future political gain. Otherwise, why conjure non-existent allegations that fly in the face of incontestable facts and common sense.
“There are pictorial evidence of visits made by the so-called members Ondo North Youths Alliance led by Bright Eniafe, one as recent as few months ago. Thus, the excellent relationship between our Senator and the youth of Ondo North is not even up for discussion,” the council stated.
CONYF said that it remained committed to working with the lawmaker for the betterment of Ondo North.
“Senator Ipinsagba’s open-door policy, willingness to engage with young people and commitment to our collective progress have solidified a bound of trust and collaboration.
“In terms of impact and redistribution of Ondo commonwealth, the Senator achievement in just one year in office, is the stuff of legends.
“His empowerment programmes and infrastructural intervention in Ondo North are unparalleled, even as the senatorial district expect more dividends of democracy in the years ahead
“There is hardly a community or local government area that has not experienced his uncommon commitment to ensuring every constituent enjoys the dividend of his representation,” the council stated.
According to CONYF, merit, fairness and constructive criticism must not be sacrificed on the altar of primordial sentiments, primitive allure for relevance, deliberate witch-hunt and crude politicking.
“This delusional voyage of expedition is anchored on the news to dance to whim and caprices of some political leaders for instance gratification or perhaps future political gain.
“Perhaps, the anger of this group is that the senator prefers to ponder to the needs of his people than the greed of few entitled mercenaries.
“For this, we offer no apology for it is our firm conviction that the needs of the majority must always trump the desires of a tiny minority.
“We will not allow ourselves to be blackmailed under any circumstances and we advise the distinguished senator, other representatives and relevant stakeholders not to be discouraged and distracted by paid detractors,” the council said.
The council who promised to promoting unity, development and meaningful engagement for the progress of the senatorial district, called on all stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to stand with it in fostering a future of growth and opportunity for the youth.
