Oyo State Government says the coronation of Abimbola Owoade as the 46th Alaafin of Oyo will hold on April 5.
Mr Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr Ademola Ojo, announced this while inaugurating a 25-man coronation committee on Monday in Ibadan.
“The committee has sub-committees to enable it coordinate and plan effectively towards a smooth coronation ceremony,” Ojo said.
The commissioner is chairing the coronation committee which includes representatives of the Alaafin palace, the state government and other key stakeholders.
Ojo said the coronation ceremony would attract dignitaries from across the country and beyond.
Governor Seyi Makinde had on Jan. 13 presented instruments of office to Owoade at a brief ceremony in his office in Agodi, Ibadan.
