The late Secretary to the Ondo State Government(SSG), Tayo Oluwatuyi, will be laid to rest in his home town, Akure, in Akure South Local Government area of the state, on Saturday, February 8, 2025.
This was disclosed in a statement released on Monday by Otunba Wale Akinlosotu, Chairman, Media and Publicity Sub-Committee for the burial.
Thefrontrank reports that Oluwatuyi, fondly called “Tuykana,” died on January 4, 2025 from injuries sustained in a lone accident on Ife-Ibadan Expressway.
The statement read: “It is with profound sadness that the Government of Ondo State announces the burial activities for the late Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon. Temitayo Oluseye Oluwatuyi, who departed this world on 4th January, 2025.
“Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi until his death served Ondo State with unwavering commitment, diligence and hard work, will be honoured through a 3-day event that reflects his impactful contributions to the State.
The events will commence as follows:
Day 1 (Thursday, 6th February, 2025)
Event – Night of Tributes: Tributes, eulogies, and reflections on the life and legacy of the deceased .
Venue : Akure City Hall, Oja Oba, Akure

Event – Candle Light Procession:
From Leonac Park – Nepa roundabout – Oluwatuyi roundabout – Late SSG’s residence at Oshinle, Akure.

Day 2 (Friday, 7th February, 2025)

“The one-time Local Government Chairman, two-time Commissioner and two-time Secretary to the Ondo State Government was a Fellow of the following professional bodies: the Institute of Certified Chartered Accountants; Chartered Institute of Cost Management; Chartered Institute of Credit Administration; Chartered Institute of Public Administration and Nigeria Chartered Institute of Management. He was also the author of many academic and financial articles in professional publications. He also played active roles in numerous social and political associations he belonged to.
“His contributions to the advancement of the Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa administration had in no small measure facilitated development and economic advancement in Ondo State. His unique contributions to governance and strategic policy implementation can never be forgotten.
