
The late Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Tayo Oluwatuyi, will be buried in his Akure country home on February 7.
Dr Gbenga Fasua, Chairman of the Transition Committee for Akure South Local Government, confirmed the burial arrangements to The Hope on Thursday.
According to Fasua, there will be a Tributes Evening and Candlelight Procession from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Thursday, February 5, to terminate at his Oshinle Quarters Family House in Akure.
On Friday, February 6, the late SSG’s body will lie in state at the headquarters of Akure South Local Government, where he was once council chairman.
On Saturday, February 7, the late Oluwatuyi’s body will be honoured with a lying-in-state at the Akure International Conference Centre (The Dome), to be followed by interment at Oshinle Quarters, Akure.
Thefrontrank reports that Oluwatuyi, fondly called “Tukana” was involved in a ghastly car accident along Ife-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday, December 15, 2024, while traveling to Ibadan and was subsequently hospitalised.
He died on Saturday, January 4, 2025 while receiving treatment.
