Twenty-eight passengers have been burnt to death in an auto crash that occurred at Mile 49 on Ore-Lagos Expressway in Odigbo Local Council area of Ondo State.
The incident occurred on Saturday evening, when two commercial buses had a head-on collision and burst into flames.
With 30 passengers involved in the accident, 28 were burnt beyond recognition while two survivors rescued and taken to the hospital.
According to sources, the accident was caused by speeding on the part of the drivers.
Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, said a preliminary investigation showed one of the vehicles drove against traffic.
